On Friday 29 March 2013, Carrey released a
statement referring to Fox News as “Fux News”. The statement also details how
he would like to “take them to task legally if I felt they were worth my time
or that anyone with a brain in their head could actually for fall for such
irresponsible buffoonery.” This letter was in response to Fox News reporting on
Carrey’s rhetoric released earlier in 2013 belittling Charlton Heston who once
served as President of the Nation Rifle Association. Greg Gutfeld of Fox News responded on Friday
29 March 2013 by saying,
“Our country is great because washed-up comics have the right to suck…”
